On MCPE, the menu items have to be double tapped to be recognized as a tap and the normal scrolling gesture simply focuses the menu item the finger is on right now. It basically makes the game impossible to navigate. Clearing all data seems to solve the issue, but after restarting Minecraft, the problem reappears.

An extremely similar issue was created before for 1.16, but the OS was iOS: MCPE-96450
