All versions and current.  There was another bug ticket created and it never got the attention it deserved.  This is a Java parity issue that is not seen in bedrock. 

Lanterns, Bells, Amethyst Clusters, Candles, Flower Pots, and Tripwire Hooks cannot be placed on trapdoors

Bug MCPE-140068 is related and closed without a solution.

These can only be placed on slabs in bedrock and cuts down on the aesthetics that creators want to see in bedrock.
