Friend died to piglins.
We ran back to where he died together.
The piglin was wearing his Trimmed Netherite gear when we approached. 
While we approached, the piglin was looking at gold armor on the ground that was also dropped.

Before we killed the piglin, he put on the gold armour (legs and chestplate). When we killed the piglin it only dropped netherite boots/helment.. It also dropped Gold pants and 2 gold chestplates.  The netherite chestplate/legs were not dropped.

I have attached a clip where you can see the piglin is still wearing the trimmed netherite leggs, and then puts on gold leggings before it is killed. The netherite legs are not dropped by the piglin.
