After opting in for realm stories the game crashes immediately when I get to the world/realm screen. I noticed this bug report for ios users and some people were able to clear marketplace cache, sign out and back in for a resolution. However, that did not work for me on Android.

Thanks for the reports, everyone. We are working on a hotfix. Don't bother with any workarounds as Realms Stories is disabled on Android and iOS until the hotfix is released.

Thanks Greymagic but the only reason they are aware of it is because of people making reports and sending it in. Even if they are "aware of it" everyone knows that the more numerous and vocal an issue is the quicker it is addressed.
If your Dr. Found a lump at your last physical weeks prior and needed to order additional test you wouldn't say ,"eh, the Dr. Is aware of it so no need for me to follow up or address additional concerns".
The most frustrating part of this bug is Mojang pushed the new realms feature into our faces, asking 2x if we are sure we want to "opt out" and then when we do try this new feature they are obviously pushing the game crashes.
Just let people share their frustration and experience without wagging your finger at them.

“Bumping” the report does nothing, there is no need for these comments. Mojang are aware of this issue.

Another temporary workaround that works on Android devices:

          • Put phone in airplane mode before you start the game. The game will not crash when it can't connect to the realms.
          • Create new local world.
          • Turn airplane mode off and wait for the internet connection to be restored.
          • Go to the menu and click play on realm. Select your existing realm and which of the three slots do you want the new world to go to.
          • Without leaving the world, go to Minecraft Stories and opt out.

(I think the opt out option should be added to minecraft.net to make this process easier.)

          TEMPORARY FIX

This took me about 10 minutes of trial and error but if you click fast enough to click on the edit button of a single player world, then play on realm, then select the broken realm.

Once on your world is uploaded it will automatically load you into the realm on that new world - [THIS METHOD DOSE REQUIRE A EMPTY SLOT/WORLD YOU DON'T MIND DEPLETING] - Then from there click menu and disable the story feature then just leave the realm and activate your old world.

El mismo problema me pasa a mi, después de habilitar la opción de realm stories al momento de querer jugar en un mundo normal o en un realm se me cierra el MINECRAFT, ya reinicie el teléfono, reinicie el cache, desinstale y instale de nuevo y nada.
