Summary: When breaking every block in a chunk so that it only contains air blocks, the blocks reappear upon moving away and returning, or after exiting and re-entering the world. This prevents the creation of void worlds such as for skyblock or skywars.
Tested in the overworld, nether and end.
Observed Behavior: Chunks containing only air blocks do not save changes, causing any modifications to revert upon moving away or reloading the world.
Expected Behavior: Chunks should save changes regardless of containing only air blocks, maintaining any modifications made by the player.
Steps to reproduce:
- Remove all the blocks from a chunk, including bedrock.
- Exit and re-enter the world.
- Observe the blocks, or some of the blocks, being back at their position before being removed.
Or
- Go to an already empty chunk. It can be in The End or in a world generated with only air blocks.
- Place any block.
- Exit and re-enter the world.
- Break the block.
- Exit and re-enter the world.
- Observe the block being back at their position before being removed.
