You can not change the name of a copy if it is at the maximum number of characters.  I am on Bedrock and I have encountered this problem. If you have reached the maximum number of characters in a Minecraft World save and then copy it. The copy will not allow you to get rid of the (1), or anything within the text box. I have tried the del/delete and backspace keys with no luck.
