I've noticed that lighting is not updating correctly at times whilst playing on my world.
Such as being in an area that should be dark, with a ceiling of non-transparent blocks covering the entire thing. (Transparent = glass, slabs or staircases, etc.)
Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, but this issue occurs more often than not.
How to recreate this issue:
- Create a room which allows no daylight to enter.
- Rejoin the world and/or travel out of render and simulation distance, then return.
- Observe whether or not the issue of lighting errors have occurred or not.
In the attachments I have posted, the entire area is encased in a black concrete box, there is a roof over the entire thing, yet it appears to be lit as if there's no roof at all.
In the second image, you can see how near the church structure, the lighting is as it should be, but this is not the case for 99% of the build.
This needs to be looked into as it is ruining the atmosphere of player builds and is overall kind of annoying to deal with.
