Certain blocks that can be placed on the face of an retracted piston cannot be placed on the face of an extended piston. They can be placed on the face of an extended piston in java edition. Applies to both regular and sticky pistons.
Block | Notes |
---|---|
Vines | Use a sideways-facing piston. |
Ladder | Use a sideways-facing piston. |
Twisting Vines | Use an upwards-facing piston. |
Kelp | Use an upwards-facing piston where the block above is a water source. |
Fire | Use an upwards-facing piston. |
Steps to Reproduce:
- Obtain a piston and place it down
- Place one of the blocks on it's face and notice that it can be placed
- Extend this piston with a lever (or other redstone power source)
- Try placing one of the blocks on the face now and notice it cannot be placed
Expected Outcome:
You should be able to place these blocks on the face of an extended piston.
