A few months ago an update reset my skin despite not changing the skin data in settings. Txt or the custom.PNG file and ever since I have been unable to select a custom skin in any version when I select the image it simply turns the screen black for a few seconds and then a different shade of black for about a minute and then mcpe resrarts
