The sky changes color to orange during a sunset/sunrise only when the player is facing the sun and it changes color depending on the players direction.

How to produce:

Start a creative world and set the time to sunset using a command.

You'll notice that the sky color only turns orange when you are facing the sun and if you slowly turn to the opposite direction, the entire color of the sky will change.
