Bug has occurred since the new water/ocean release.

Mobs are not dropping loot when killed.  This bug affects both hostile mobs and animals.  So, Skeletons don't drop bones or bows, cows don't drop meat or leather, chickens don't drop feathers or raw chicken....you get the idea.

Makes it very difficult to farm leather for books  :/

Hope this is fixed soon.
