The location within Windows 10 in which I am dealing with is reached through the following menus.

      1. Windows button bottom left of screen.
      2. Scroll app list until reaching Minecraft.
      3. Right click on Minecraft.
      4. Scroll over the "More" menu.
      5. Click the App settings menu
      6. Scroll down on the menu
      7. Observe the option titled "Reset"

The problem I encountered is this.  The Reset options states the following "If this app isn't working right, reset it.  This app will be reinstalled and revert to its default settings.  Your documents will not be affected."

The problem is, reset is not clear about what is considered "your documents".  It would make sense that the game save files are "your documents".  This is not the case.  When I conducted a reset I lost all of my saved game files.  If this app is hosted on the Windows Store and there are options with the app, then those options need to be clearly defined.  I lost months worth of effort to the point where I don't even want to play anymore or have fun with the family.  I had problems with this app on other platforms and have gone through three complete losses of progress.  I usually back up my saved game files, but in this case I did not because the option description indicated my app's user created files would be protected.

Why did I reset the app?  Well it wasn't because it wasn't working.  It was because in the menu there is no option to reset all of the settings to default.  Such as the video settings.  Why is there no default option?  My son went in and changed all kinds of settings and I wanted to get the game back to its defaults.  This reset option indicated the defaults would return and I figured this was a great option to return all settings back to their default.  Never did I consider a Windows hosted app would be so poorly aligned with a Windows defined option.

      What I think should happen.

-Change the app to declare save game files as documents so that when an app reset occurs they are protected and I do not need to perform a manual backup.  That is the purpose of the reset option.

-Change the reset option to work differently so that each app can have its own custom reset association.  Which I'm pretty sure isn't the right option.  If apps are going to host on a Microsoft platform, then the apps need to comply with the environment in which they are going to be hosted.

-Remove Minecraft from the hosted environment if it cannot be designed to work properly in the host environment or at least until it is completely configured or revised to permit better environmental functionality.

I hope this can be fixed.  As a user of the environment and the associated software I shouldn't be placed in a position where I have to alter that environment or software.  I'm pretty sure that would violate some licensing agreements at the time of purchase.  Thank you for any effort put towards resolving this be it a Microsoft team or Mojang because this is something that would require a deconfliction to resolve.
