Map zooms are behaving like builds prior to 1.8, zooming from center and not zooming to the world grid

      Maps in new private world, created within the last month, do not zoom out according to the world grid established by build 1.8 and later (starting at -64 , -64 and zooming outward towards the SE).  Instead, while standing on coordinates 0,0 every zoom level keeps coordinates 0,0 at the very center of the map, zooming outward in every direction.  This is functionally the same as old mapping in 1.7 and earlier.  Tested and repeatable on 3 new worlds with different random seed numbers in succession.  Entered world, changed to creative mode, travelled to coordinates 0,0, created map 0, and zoomed out through all 4 levels.  Tested with Survival/Peaceful mode as well.
