Unless separated by a distance of 6 chunks (or simulation distance), and contrarily to the behavior displayed in versions 1.11 stable and 1.12 beta, villagers in v1.13.0.1 beta do not create new villages upon finding beds if they are anywhere near an existing village, even if the number of POIs required to trigger new village creation in v1.11 and 1.12 is exceeded.

On the contrary, villagers will seemingly claim very large numbers of POIs for the same village, and egg-spawned villagers will even get attached to an existing village without any POIs available at all (see screenshots).

As a consequence, iron golem farms relying on creating separate villages close to one another (currently the only known way to farm iron efficiently on Bedrock Edition) are severely impacted.

Many users, including myself, are hoping to see ways to streamline iron ingot production in order to meet the drastic requirements some of the most common items (such as hoppers) impose.

Thank you in advance for looking into this issue.

Regarding the screenshot "_not_even_a_bed.jpg", this can occur normally in a number of situations, and can be either brief or persistent. For instance, it occurs every time a villager is added to a village, whether it wandered in, was born, was spawned by egg, or was converted from a zombie villager. It also occurs whenever an owned bed is broken or the villager releases it because it was unable to reach it. In all these cases, the villager should acquire an unclaimed bed very quickly if one is available, but even if it can't, it will still be a dweller in the village.

Could you possibly provide a world copy from 1.11.x with separated villages working as expected please?

          • On Windows 10 you can use the Export world feature.
          • On Android or iOS you need to use a file explorer to navigate to Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds
          • On Xbox or Switch the only way is to upload it to a Realm, and then download the world on Windows 10 or Android/iOS.

If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link.

There were several ways to stack farms in 1.11 and 1.12, but here was mine:

          Steps to Reproduce:
          1. Place 21 beds next to each other
          2. Place a bell near the beds.
          3. Place 20 other POIs nearby
          4. Move away a few blocks
          5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 a couple of times
          6. Place pairs of villagers into streams of water the bells
          7. Breed the villagers

          Observed Results:
In 1.13.0.1, all the villagers get attached to one single village.

          Expected Results:
In 1.11 and 1.12, villagers created a new village with each set of 42 POIs.

Here is a video showcasing a working farm in 1.11 using this process.

Here is another video detailing a different process but with a similar concept (new village creation in close proximity).
