I have been on the fence about complaining. It sort of works and worry it will get worse if you work on it.
It has been possible to field a fairly large trading area. I had over 20 librarians working. It took some work joining a new realm.
What i found having more villagers than beds or stations breaks currently working villagers. Created breeder, send them to nether. Bring them in 1 at a time. This is a bug and needs to be fixed.
Now even bringing them in 1 at a time breaks the village. All villagers were working and refreshing. Brought in 2 or 3 at same time half of librarians broke. Fix please.
At the very least as i suggested before. Regardless of beds and stations. Have the villagers reset everyday. Like the artsy fartsy dream you have of villagers. But would rather have game that works.
The idea that a villager cant use a bed its standing on or a station next to him. But can lock on to one being used 50 blocks away is stupid.
It was bad enough having this issue with doors in old system. But it was doable. But many workstations are useful. And i cant use them because even 50 blocks or more away they screw up trading.
Please fix.
