I had given myself jump boost and speed with an amplifier of 127. I switched to survival and died from fall damage, then left the world. When I got back and respawned, I still had the speed effect. I tried using milk, clearing effects, and dying, but mothing worked. It seems as if it treated the change in speed as permanent, as there is no status icon on the screen either, and the game insisted there were no effects to clear.
