When I was in a river and then trying to get out from finding some fish to eat because I had only 3 hunger bars and couldn't run I was stuck in the water. I wouldnt just jump up on a block, I even tried slabs, but I couldn't. I also tried to get 4 hunger bars and swim fast and jump, but it still doesn't work.
