External server -cannot connect

      IOS is updated (ipad 2). Minecraft is updated (i have removed and re installed the App just in case). I set up the external server (Lifeboat etc) -the system is trying to connect and then comes up with the message "Cannot connect to server". What can i do to resolve that?
