I kind of figured they were somehow doing this on purpose, after having 3 donkeys drown within 30 sec. of them accidentally falling in a water hole 

I've gotten mobs to pathfind out from under a lily pad, but the underlying issue isn't with mobs getting stuck underwater, it's how they get there in the first place. See MCPE-81361.

I have given an adequate description,  have any "living" entity under a single block even a lily pad and they'll drowned themselves,  i find it hard to believe any living animal would lack the instinct to breathe,  it seems a rotten brain dead zombie has a better self preservation ai
