I logged into the new Nether Update today, went to the Nether  and threw some gold nuggets and pressure plates at some piglins. Just before the piglins reached them, they disappeared, as if they had been picked up. I even saw the pressure plate in a piglin's hand. However, I did not receive anything in return for the gold and was left waiting.
