The nether update has nearly rendered local multiplayer games completely unplayable.
Here are some of the issues we had experienced before, and after the update. The ones after the update were found after playing in a world for less than an hour, multiplayer and alone.
(These are all new issues, besides the character model freezing.)
-The second player's character model occasionally freezes, and if it isn't that, the arm(s) of the model can at least be seen a full block away from the actual character.
-In third person we can see the skins we are actually using, but in first person we can only see each other as the original Steve.
-Mobs despawn if we walk more than 15 blocks away for more than a second.
-The chicken models glitch to where all moving animations come to a stop, and despite still being the size of a newly hatched chicks will render in as the fully grown chicken.
-Rather it was intentional or not, tamed pets/mobs no longer teleport to the player's side. This includes but is not limited to dogs and parrots.
-The map is broke, once it's opened you will appear in one spot but if you take just two steps the icon pops up halfway across the map, and does not fill in any of the map despite the cursor/icon still moving.
-From the second player's view, some mobs and objects are completely invisible, including but not limited to the Enderdragon and End Crystals.
-The purple spots within the nether portal can be broke like glass, and sometimes it doesn't even work, thus leaving us trapped in the nether.
-Also, I'm unsure if this is intentional or not, but the second player no longer spawns in with a map in their inventory.
-The pigstep disc is fantastic, however sometimes it messes up to the point that it only replays the first few beats before going completely silent.
(These are issues I found before the update.)
-Constant game crashes while trying to explore.
-Things disappearing from our chests and inventories.
-Named mobs despawning, even if secluded to a small area or tied to a fence post via lead.
-Chunks of the world not loading in, so bad to the point that we would have to leave the game entirely only to load the world back in, to have it crash.
