So this one time we played this cool map called Giant Chest Skyblock, it was really cool, kinda off topic though but we'll get to the point. Then during the night a pillager spawned on a chest, and we were scared to go up and kill it, so I went first but the pillager wasn't attacking! So I punched it and it agroed but I punched it into the edge because its skyblock so it didn't hit me. (Note: I don't know if this is a feature or not, and the difficulty was not hard)

Steps to reproduce: 

1.  Maybe turn it into some difficulty thats not hard and spawn a pillager. Then it might not attack you in survival
