I used to change my realm from creative to survival and back with no problems, now when I switch to survival I always stay in creative mode and the other player switches to survival.  I changed the settings back to creative on my realm but now the other player is stuck on survival while I'm on creative, we're playing on the same realm together.  I've logged in as the other player on my device to check and he's on survival in a creative realm.
