The ore chart included in the java update article has the triangle lapis distribution marked as "no air exposure". However the minecraft:ore_lapis placed feature that places this distribution is not buried.

However the minecraft:ore_lapis_burried placed feature is burried but places the uniform lapis distribution between y=-64 and y=64. This distribution is not marked as "no air exposure" in the chart.
