The UI has become unresponsive when playing Minecraft! This is simular to MCPE-11174, but it has nothing to do with Airplane Mode/WiFi & this is not 0.12.2. The gameplay, the controls & looking around is fine. But when you first open the game and/or open the pause screen, things tend to get a little odd. I have never seen this problem. I have restarted my iPad & Minecraft. What happens? The SAME THING!
